Pulwama attack.

Pulwama, a word that reminds us that how brutal terrorism is.

Exactly two years ago (14th Feb) in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, a convoy of vehicles carrying Indian security personnel was on their way to Srinagar but in between they were attacked by a vehicle bore suicide bomber who was driving a car carrying explosives at Lethapora.
In this attack, 40 Indian personnel of CRPF were killed and more than 35 were injured.

The responsibility of this attack was taken by a Pakistan-based terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed.

This attack had completely shaken India. And the warlike situation had occurred between India and Pakistan.

On that day 40 families had lost their loved ones and the whole country was dawn in sorrow.

The perpetrator was identified as Adil Ahmad Dar, a 22-year old from Kakapora.  According to Dar's parents, Dar became radicalized after he was beaten by Indian police. Between September 2016 and March 2018, Adil Dar was reportedly arrested six times by Indian authorities. However, each time he was released without any charges.

This attack was the failure of our intelligence agencies such as NIA, RAW. Even after an investigation of a year, NIA was unable to find the source of explosives. This kind of attack puts the question mark on the efficiency of these agencies.

The aftermath of the attack

- India took back the status of the most favored nation from Pakistan.

- custom duty was increased to 200% on every imported good from Pakistan.

- FATF put Pakistan on the grey list.

- Protests, bandhs, and candle marches were held across India.

- Many organizations and associations had banned Pakistani artists.

Balakot airstrike:

India responded with full bravery.
On the 26 Feb 2019 twelve jets( Miraj 2000) of the Indian air force crossed the LOC (line of control) and destroyed the terrorist camps in Pakistan.

India took this major step because they were sure that these were terrorist training centers.

Pakistan retaliation

On a consecutive day, the Pakistan air force conducted an airstrike in Jammu and Kashmir.

But no damage was caused by the Pakistan airstrike.

But an Indian MiG-21 was shot down over Pakistan and its pilot was captured by them.

Result of Indian diplomatic power:

The whole world had witnessed that he returned to India at Wagah on 1 March 2019.
This is the real power of india.

Let's recall the sacrifice of our soldiers.

voting rights to illiterate-logical or not??

India's literacy rate is 74.4% according to the 2011 census, which contains 82.14% for males and 65.46% for females. Any Indian citizen who is 18yrs old and above has the right to vote and contest the election.13 Dec 1989 was the date when the starting age was reduced to18yrs from 21yrs. There is a constitutional body in India that handles the whole election procedure from the election of Prime Minister to Sarpanch. When India became independent thousands of questions arose in the minds of constitution-makers. One major question among all these was- Should illiterate people have the right to vote? We know that voting is a very big responsibility in a democracy. After a lot of debates and arguments, the decision was taken and voting right was also given to illiterate citizens. Arguments in favor  1. By not providing them the right to vote, we are violating their right to equality. 2. An illiterate voter can distinguish between genuine promises and false promises.  3...

Understanding Indian Society: A Sociological Perspective

India, a vast and diverse nation, is a fascinating mosaic of cultures, languages, religions, and social structures. To understand Indian society, one must delve into its historical roots, social stratification, and the interplay of tradition and modernity. With 40 years of experience in sociology, I aim to provide a comprehensive yet accessible overview of this complex society.  Historical Context Ancient and Medieval Periods Indian society has a rich history that dates back thousands of years. The ancient Indus Valley Civilization (c. 3300–1300 BCE) laid the foundation for many social and cultural norms. Following this, the Vedic period introduced the varna system, which later evolved into the caste system. The medieval period saw the rise of powerful empires like the Mauryas, Guptas, and Mughals. These empires contributed significantly to the cultural and social fabric of India. The Mughal era, in particular, saw a fusion of Persian culture with Indian traditions, leading to a vi...
