Introduction: When a child takes birth he gets the name, caste as well as religion from his parents. He grows up with the custom and rituals of his religion. He speaks a language that is preferred by his religion. He is regularly asked to worship his religion. Today, in this blog we will discuss the meaning of secularism, India's policy of religion and also compare it with the western policy.  so let's begin. Meaning of secularism: The term secularism was first used by British writer George Holyoake in 1851. Described it as promoting a social order separate from religion without dismissing or criticizing religious belief. The belief that religion should not be involved with the ordinary social and political activities of a country. In political term secularism is a movement toward the separation of religion and government. Modern democracies are generally recognised as secular due to near complete freedom of religion. India became secular: India got independence in

Dominion of Pakistan  In this division, around 12.5 Million people were displaced and around 1 million people got killed. Relevance of NOTA in indian politics.

The election is the biggest festival of democracy. In the world's biggest democracy this festival is celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm. The whole election process is guarded by the constitutional body, the Election Commission of India. In the election process, we choose the most-liked contender. But if we don't like any candidate so we don't vote in elections and that directly decreases our overall voting percentage.  A very reasonable solution to this problem is NOTA (none of the above). Presently we are getting this choice in the election from December 2013 by the Election Commission of India. On 27 September 2013, the Supreme court of India ruled that voters have the right to cast their vote to “none of the above” and ordered the ECI to provide a button for the same in the EVM (electronic voting machines). But still, there is a need for improvements:- - If Nota receive the maximum no. of votes in a constituency then there must be re-election. -

neighbourhood First Policy successful or not?

India lies in the southern part of the Asian continent, surrounded by the Himalayas in the north and the Indian ocean in the south, the Bay of Bengal in the east, and the Arabian Sea in the west. India's neighboring countries are Afghanistan,  Pakistan, China, Bhutan, Nepal, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Maldives, Sri Lanka.  When Mr. Narendra Modi became our prime minister in 2014, he launched the neighborhood first policy. According to this policy, the Indian government will focus on improving the ties with its immediate neighbors in comparison to strategic partners. India can invest in its neighboring countries, to build stronger trade and political ties.  But, over the last years, due to Pakistan-funded terrorism and separatism, the government has decided to turn a cold shoulder towards Pakistan. And due to widespread coronavirus from China also weakens the ties of the two countries.  Srilanka has been seen to be more inclined to China in the recent past . On the other hand,

voting rights to illiterate-logical or not??

India's literacy rate is 74.4% according to the 2011 census, which contains 82.14% for males and 65.46% for females. Any Indian citizen who is 18yrs old and above has the right to vote and contest the election.13 Dec 1989 was the date when the starting age was reduced to18yrs from 21yrs. There is a constitutional body in India that handles the whole election procedure from the election of Prime Minister to Sarpanch. When India became independent thousands of questions arose in the minds of constitution-makers. One major question among all these was- Should illiterate people have the right to vote? We know that voting is a very big responsibility in a democracy. After a lot of debates and arguments, the decision was taken and voting right was also given to illiterate citizens. Arguments in favor  1. By not providing them the right to vote, we are violating their right to equality. 2. An illiterate voter can distinguish between genuine promises and false promises.  3. Som

Objection on smoking visuals in KGF chapter 2 teaser

Recently a teaser of a Kannada superhit film KGF's sequel was launched on online platforms on the birthday of its leading actor Yash. And it is loved by a lot of people. On YouTube, this teaser has broken a lot of records, and in just 4 days it got 100million views. But the Karnataka State Anti-Tobacco Cell has taken exception to the visuals showing actor Yash lighting a cigarette and smoking. We all know that smoking is injurious to health, but we usually see smoking in every film. That's not the cigarette that makes a hero, heroin, and villains cool but it's their acting and work. This is a completely wrong perception of the filmmaker.

Republic day is the day of dignity. This is the day when the Indian Constitution came into force in 1950. After a huge struggle on this day, India became a sovereign country.
