India-Pakistan Relation

Introduction:

When India got independence from the British 💂, it was divided into two dominions:-
1. Dominion of India
2. Dominion of Pakistan
In this division, around 12.5 Million people were displaced and around 1 million people got killed. From independence, till now both nations have fought a lot of wars over many issues such as Kashmir, Bangladesh, etc. Governments of both nations have tried to develop good relations with each other but hurdles such as terrorism, violation of ceasefire agreement, etc make the relation sour from time to time.
Conflicts:
1. Indo-Pak war, 1947 (Kasmir War)
2. Indo-Pak war, 1965 (J&k conflict end with Tashkent declaration)
3. Indo-Pak war, 1971 (Bangladesh Liberation)
4. Indo-Pak war, 1999 (Kargil war)

Supporters of Pakistan:
1. China supports Pakistan wholeheartedly with the technical information, financial help, defense equipment, and by using veto power in United Nations. Just to retaliate India from becoming a major superpower in south Asia.

2. America also supports Pakistan with fighter crafts, arms and funding. Just to neutralize the Russian involvement in south Asia.
India Pakistan cricket match:

One of the most intense sports rivalries in the world. Every cricket fan of India and Pakistan never miss the match. They feel connected with the victory and defeat of their team. And many times the cricket teams have also faced the anger of their fans after a defeat.

The recent deterioration of relations:

Due to These attacks, the relationship is unstable and chances of improvement also decrease.
India Pakistan economy:

We know that war results in destruction only. Where the economy is also badly damaged. Both countries have fought 4 major wars and 100's of minors which adversely affected their economies. A huge amount of money is spent in the defense sector by both countries but if they invest the same amount into the skill development of their people they may have improved their economic value.

Recent advancement in relation:

1. Both countries have agreed on water sharing of the Indus River and its tributaries with the help of the world bank.
2. With the collective efforts of India and Pakistan, the Kartar Pur corridor is built for Indians to visit Gurudwara Darbar sahib in Pakistan.
3. India gave Pakistan the position of the most favored nation in trading. Which was later taken back by India due to the Pulwama attack.
4. Samjhota express, Delhi-Lahore bus service, etc these improvements are good for both countries.

India Pakistan relation UPSC:

Indo-Pak relations are very important for the UPSC CSE. As it discusses the foreign policy of both nations toward each other. Trade between two countries is also crucial for economic relations.

Conclusion:

India and Pakistan are two neighboring countries that's why there is a need for cooperation among them. Both have nuclear power, a large population, huge resources, etc.  Both are developing countries with numerous aims to achieve. Pakistan is always condemned for Funding, feeding, and sheltering terrorism so they should eliminate their ideology of terror to develop their country.

Any Indian citizen who is 18yrs old and above has the right to vote and contest the election.13 Dec 1989 was the date when the starting age was reduced to18yrs from 21yrs. There is a constitutional body in India that handles the whole election procedure from the election of Prime Minister to Sarpanch. When India became independent thousands of questions arose in the minds of constitution-makers. One major question among all these was- Should illiterate people have the right to vote?
