The election is the biggest festival of democracy. In the world's biggest democracy this festival is celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm. The whole election process is guarded by the constitutional body, the Election Commission of India.
In the election process, we choose the most-liked contender. But if we don't like any candidate so we don't vote in elections and that directly decreases our overall voting percentage.
A very reasonable solution to this problem is NOTA (none of the above). Presently we are getting this choice in the election from December 2013 by the Election Commission of India. On 27 September 2013, the Supreme court of India ruled that voters have the right to cast their vote to “none of the above” and ordered the ECI to provide a button for the same in the EVM (electronic voting machines).
But still, there is a need for improvements:-
- If Nota receive the maximum no. of votes in a constituency then there must be re-election.
- Political parties that lose to NOTA will have to bear the expenses of re-election.
- Any candidate who loses from nota should not be allowed to contest election for at least 6yrs
-...
What are your views on the relevance of NOTA?

It's just as assumption but what if these NOTA votes get converted into the real votes to some party. That would be more great, plus other parties who couldn't get majority in other states should at least give it a try in such states like Meghalaya. Maybe they're the one the public is looking for.
