Republic Day of India

Republic day is the day of dignity. This is the day when the Indian Constitution came into force in 1950. After a huge struggle on this day, India became a sovereign country. On this auspicious day, India turned into a newly formed republic. In 2021 we will celebrate the 72nd republic day. Republic Day parade is held in the capital, New Delhi, which is organized by the Ministry of Defence. 
Padma awards, the second-highest civilian award after Bharat ratan, are given in three categories, viz. Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri, to those who have done extraordinary work in their respective fields.
Nine to twelve different regiments of the Indian Army in addition to the Navy, and Air Force with their bands march past in all their finery and official decorations. The President of India who is the Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Armed Forces, takes the salute. Twelve contingents of various para-military forces of India and police forces also take part in this parade.source- Wikipedia.

voting rights to illiterate-logical or not??

India's literacy rate is 74.4% according to the 2011 census, which contains 82.14% for males and 65.46% for females. Any Indian citizen who is 18yrs old and above has the right to vote and contest the election.13 Dec 1989 was the date when the starting age was reduced to18yrs from 21yrs.
