How Lone Muslim Candidate Wins UP Panchayat Election in Hindu Dominated Village!!

Recently, UP has gone through Panchayat elections during this pandemic.

And Rajanpur village in Ayodhya has now become the center of attraction and has set a perfect example of brotherhood and amity.

People always criticize that politics in India either at the Central level or local level is done on the idea of communalism.

But in this Hindu-dominated village, a Muslim sarpanch candidate Hafiz Azeem Uddin won the election with his hard work and dedication.
Interestingly, Hafiz Azeem Uddin's family is the only Muslim family in the village, and even after that, he defeated several other strong candidates.

His win has now proved that people still do vote above caste and the religious lines.

Speaking to News18 over the phone, Haji Azim Uddin said, “It is just the love and support of the village people which gave me strength to file nomination and finally win the election. There is communal harmony in the village. We are all like a big family. There are three temples in the villages and I came to know that the people of my village had prayed to God and even kept fasts for my win. It was only after I won, people had water and food and such is their affection."

There is a constitutional body in India that handles the whole election procedure from the election of Prime Minister to Sarpanch. When India became independent thousands of questions arose in the minds of constitution-makers. One major question among all these was- Should illiterate people have the right to vote? We know that voting is a very big responsibility in a democracy. After a lot of debates and arguments, the decision was taken and voting right was also given to illiterate citizens. Arguments in favor  1. By not providing them the right to vote, we are violating their right to equality. 2. An illiterate voter can distinguish between genuine promises and false promises.  3...

What is a glacier? The collection of a very huge amount of ice for a very long time in a particular area where that ice does not melt due to the climatic conditions of that area.
