Why do I need to vote??

The first principle of democracy, power possesses by people, empowers us to decide that who will make the decisions for us. We cannot give up this power or there will be no meaning of democracy at all.

By voting we can give direction to the nation, if we elect our representatives responsibly after looking into their policies and ideologies we can get better governance.

Voting allows us to bring a change in society and become our voice that needs to be heard by representatives. Sitting in front of the television and cribbing won't bring change in society.

Governance directly influences our daily life in every aspect, so electing good governance does not take any time and gives very large benefits.

Active participation of young educated voters forces the political parties to bring good candidates.

Every vote matters your one vote can help the deserving candidate and your one vote can also remove the corrupt representative from his post.

While casting our vote we feel a sense of pride and dignity and that feeling is great when you are being a part of the change.

True voters will always try to elect an accountable and responsible representative who is honest and dedicated toward his duty. Therefore we should vote responsibly.

Freedom fighters in India indirectly fought for the right to vote and the right to be representative and by not performing this duty responsibly we are disrespecting their sacrifice.

India's literacy rate is 74.4% according to the 2011 census, which contains 82.14% for males and 65.46% for females. Any Indian citizen who is 18yrs old and above has the right to vote and contest the election.13 Dec 1989 was the date when the starting age was reduced to18yrs from 21yrs.
