indian secularism.

I have lived almost 18 years in this country. Almost everyday I was reminded that how great this country is, how we gained our independence, how old and precious is our history and how we live in unity even after being so diverse.

We have many different cultures, languages and religions but we still stand as a single nation.

All these same lines we have heard of years and years. And it seems there is no loop hole in this scenario because no one have the dare to say that above all religion and cultures there stands a single dictator
" HINDUISM".

There are always some factors which lead to rise of a dictator and biggest factor behind this dictator of Hinduism is Indian politics.
Politicians since independence had used the religion to manipulate people. Hindus being in majority were the biggest target so since independence politicians have controlled our governing system by manipulating Hindus.

For example our most famous Hindu serial RAMAYAN started by our government in 1987.

1987 there was Congress government in centre lead by Rajiv Gandhi. At that time Congress was facing use allegation on Bofors deal. Starting of Ramayana at that time indicates towards two loopholes in our system.
1. How government used religion to manipulate us at that time. The allegation on PM were very promising and whole country was protesting against it whole media was on this scam. People were protesting against it and due to all this Congress dominance was fading. To restore that dominance and distract people from this topic they use religion as a weapon and decided to start Ramayan on DD National. This is one of many examples.

2. Reality of secularism in India - it is clearly mentioned in our constitution and preamble that our country is secular. It is shocking to think that government of a secular country started a show based on ancient Hindu books.
Same things happens in my city 'kurukshetra' every year conducts a 10 days festival on holy book of Hindu's 'Bhagwat Geeta".
Recently supreme court gave decision on 'Ram Mandir's case went on the favour of hindu maha sabha. Being a secular country we could have made a decision good for everyone such as we could have opened a school in that place where children of every religion could have studied together.

Let us see indian secularism with another view. Our current ruling party BJP have direct relations with an organisation called RSS which is officially a hindu organization. BJP uses religion as their main election campaign. Most of the BJP workers and ministers openly spread hate for other religions.

Till now we don't have any explanation for Gujarat riots against muslim.
And still BJP says that they are a secular party.

  3. Flawed definition of secularism used in the article.
    1. Secularism doesn't mean non-hinduism. It means state won't subscribe to any religion.

We have HAJ-SUBSIDY based on taxpayers money. We have MADARSAS running on public money. We have crutches in north-east which are dependent partially on government funds.
Supreme court judgement was based on findings of ASI and not on majoritarianism.
Telecast of Ramayana in no way degrades the secular fabric of India .
The writer is a "biased" man not an unbiased hindu.
Get your idea of secularism straight.

voting rights to illiterate-logical or not??

India's literacy rate is 74.4% according to the 2011 census, which contains 82.14% for males and 65.46% for females. Any Indian citizen who is 18yrs old and above has the right to vote and contest the election.13 Dec 1989 was the date when the starting age was reduced to18yrs from 21yrs. There is a constitutional body in India that handles the whole election procedure from the election of Prime Minister to Sarpanch. When India became independent thousands of questions arose in the minds of constitution-makers. One major question among all these was- Should illiterate people have the right to vote? We know that voting is a very big responsibility in a democracy. After a lot of debates and arguments, the decision was taken and voting right was also given to illiterate citizens. Arguments in favor  1. By not providing them the right to vote, we are violating their right to equality. 2. An illiterate voter can distinguish between genuine promises and false promises.  3...

how Uttarakhand glacier burst?

Introduction: The very unfortunate news has come from the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand where a part of the Nanda Devi glacier is broken which caused the flood. Until now 15 people have lost their lives and 100+ are missing and very heavy destruction have happened to two hydropower plants. This is not the first time, this has reminded us of the disaster of 2013 and it's not the last event. In the coming time, this kind of disaster will be more frequent due to climate change. We are not very clear that what happened in Chamoli and why. But some experts think that behind this disaster there is a phenomenon of GLOF (Glacial Lake outburst flood) Let us try to understand. What is a glacier? The collection of a very huge amount of ice for a very long time in a particular area where that ice does not melt due to the climatic conditions of that area. Example mountain 🏔️ tops, Alaska and Iceland. Due to the regular deposit of ice, its weight increases continuously which leads...
