YOUTH IN POLITICS

India is the youngest country as well as biggest democracy of the world.
India's
- 50% population is under 25 yrs
- 65% population under 35 yrs
But
75% of lok sabha is above 50 yrs.

Average age of India MP is 63 yrs.

India is a democracy. It's citizens enjoys the right to vote and right to contest election. Then why proportion of young people is very low in Indian politics?
Why youth don't take active participation in politics?
Why youth don't want to be a policy maker? Why youth is afraid of politics?
Why politics is not a good career option?

I am sure you also wanna know the answers of these questions. So let's find the answers together.
India got freedom around 70 years ago and we know that, we got independence because of the active participation of youth. But what happened after independence. We gave the full authority to the elder people. And till now we couldn't create an environment where people feel free to come in politics. our political parties, government, nation and society are mutually responsible for this current situation.

Why the definition of politics for a common people include scam ,riots , bad tactics? Who have created this image of politics among common people?

Actually, they are the political parties and their greed of power which have completely defamed politics. Political parties don't give the chance to youth to grow in politics. And you must have noticed that except some, all the youngsters in politics at present time are from any political background or rich people with political connections. A very few number of active and young politicians are working for this country who are self made.
Every day we read in newspaper that today this politician is accused for scam , this politician is accused for riots, this politician accused for black money or money laundering. These type of news have changed our perception towards politics and politicians. If you wanna join politics you need money, muscle power and large support. This is not fully right or wrong. If you have the capability and efficiency you will be noticed, you will be heard, you will be followed. Just have some faith on yourself and on your supporters.
You might also thinking that what force  youth to stay away from politics?

- politics is a field of rich People. We always heard that from everyone. You need money for everything such as rally, posters, hordings, road show , crowd. That's why family stop their children to not to indulge in politics.
But someone have to come forward. Someone need to take step. Someone need to change the system. But first need to be a part of this system.

- crime involvement is also a major factor due to which youth take their steps backward. Every family thought that their children should be safe and healthy. They don't want to loose their loved ones.
But if the mother of Bhagat Singh don't let him to fight for his nation? Do we get independence?? Think about it.

- perception of society is also a hurdle for the youth before entering into politics. Society always judges a person according to his profession. This need to change.

You also have heard about college student organisation. Some are independent and some are affiliated with big political paries which provide them funding. Yes ,youth work in politics but only in the base level. Because  we know that base level work need man power and energy. These base level workers are always suppressed because politicians sitting on high posts feel fear from these young, talented and energetic workers.

In present lok sabha there are 543 members  in which 158 members have criminal cases over them. Why the hell we have given the chance to these criminals to govern us?? Why?? Istead to vote a criminal we can give a chance to young and good candidate and we have to.

I know that elders are valuable treasure of experience but this treasure go with them. What actually happen in our education system. We get education from from our teachers and they got education from their teachers. But these elders are not interested at all to share their experiences because in politics there is no age limit ,no retirement. You can contest election and run a government till you are alive. And politics is full of greedy people. We need youth which is generous in nature and work for citizens welfare not their own welfare.

Okay now a positive point.
If you wanted to be a politician what you need??

- your vision and intelligence will be your most powerful weapons in this political journey. You vision should be clear. Your target must be practical and achievealbe.
As I have earlier mentioned politics is known for bad tactics so you need to be clever enough.

- secondly, you must have complete knowledge of political procedures , rules and regulations. You need to know how an office works. You need to know the power of an office.

- thirdly, and most importantly you need to know the grass root problems of your area and locality. Through which you can interact with the people of your area and let them feel your presence.

Do you know about Prashant Kishore??

If no, so he is a political analyst who made strategies of election campaigns of various political parties. Earlier he was just an analyst but now he have joined a political party. And let me tell you that in 2014 lok sabha he was the man who made strategies for Pm Narendra Modi. He also worked with Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi in UP assembly elections. Nitish kumar fought these two consecutive election with the help of his strategies. So yeah he is a very big personality in present political scenario.
But why I have mentioned him.
There is a very big reason behind it.

Actually, he have started a program which is named YOUTH IN POLITICS and in which he aimed that he will bring more and more youth together to contest elections from base level i.e. Panchayat election to the apex level i.e. Member of parliament. Try to know more about him..

It is very good and necessary step for this contemporary political situation. We need more and more Prashant Kishore and initiative like this.

Conclusion
- there is youth but less
- need of efficient, capable people in politics
- youth need to struggle, fight
- need to understand the nature of society
- know how of grass root level problems
- increase public support
- learn from past and prepare for future.

  5. I totally agree with you ... we should encourage *clean* politics on our own level and introspect and question ourselves being in the position of voters .....what we find more attractive? And what comes into our mind when we think of election campaigns ...5 6 SUVs ?? (Frankly we all find it fascinating and thrilling )
Numerous pamphlets some levatating some lying on the road wherever this horde passes and huge crowd watching over this tableau of muscle power and money
And in another place we pay no heed to the person who genuinely wants to come up as a political leader or I must people who actually wants to do politics or policy making just back off themselves ....so my point is that we ourselves should encourage such blooming leaders and not such *goons*.

voting rights to illiterate-logical or not??

India's literacy rate is 74.4% according to the 2011 census, which contains 82.14% for males and 65.46% for females. Any Indian citizen who is 18yrs old and above has the right to vote and contest the election.13 Dec 1989 was the date when the starting age was reduced to18yrs from 21yrs. There is a constitutional body in India that handles the whole election procedure from the election of Prime Minister to Sarpanch. When India became independent thousands of questions arose in the minds of constitution-makers. One major question among all these was- Should illiterate people have the right to vote? We know that voting is a very big responsibility in a democracy. After a lot of debates and arguments, the decision was taken and voting right was also given to illiterate citizens. Arguments in favor  1. By not providing them the right to vote, we are violating their right to equality. 2. An illiterate voter can distinguish between genuine promises and false promises.  3. Som

Introduction : One tweet has shaken the government of India, forced the external affairs ministry to take a stand. One tweet has provided headlines to every news channel. One tweet has wakened our sleeping celebrities . I am talking about the tweet done by Rihanna (singer). Who is Rihanna? Rihanna is a world-famous singer, has over 100 million followers on Twitter .
